About God's Garage

Our mission is to keep single mothers, widows and wives of Deployed military on the road Safely

who makes up god’s garage?

God’s Garage is a ministry reflecting God’s love. We are a group of people who want to help others by being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. Our organization was born out of the needs we saw around us, as some single mothers, widows and wives of deployed military in our community were struggling to make ends meet.

One of the ways that we help these under-resourced ladies is by stepping in and making necessary repairs to their vehicles. We do not charge anything for labor, and we try to help with parts as we can. We also help those who need a dependable car but are not in a financial position to be able to purchase one, by gifting vehicles for free.

Bridging Troubled Times & Positively Impacting Lives by Meeting Physical, Spiritual & Financial Needs

Through donated vehicles and auto parts, financial contributions and thousands of volunteer hours each year, we are able to bridge troubled times in so many of these ladies’ lives. We are endeavoring to meet physical needs of transportation, spiritual needs of guidance, and even financial needs by providing life skills to help with budgeting, career resources and more for those who are waiting to receive auto repairs or a vehicle from God’s Garage.

“Wonderful people that are always so generous. The seminar was filled with so much information that really has helped me & on top of that my children and I were blessed with a vehicle. Thank you, God’s Garage; you all have been such a blessing to my family!” – Mary (Client)

Donated Vehicles Are Transformed to Empower

Before we hand over the keys to a vehicle, each car goes through its own transformation by our mechanics and volunteers to get it in safe, operating condition. The women on our waiting list go through a vetting process in addition to being empowered with basic life skills before they receive their vehicle. We thoughtfully take the time to match the donated vehicles to a woman in need.

The vehicles we gift these women are merely stepping-stones to the positive life transformations we are witnessing in these ladies’ lives.

God’s Garage is Doing More than Alleviating Transportation Worries

Our original vision of easing the burden of transportation for these ladies has grown and evolved over time. As we’ve listened to these women describe their fears and concerns, we have learned that their needs were much deeper than providing them with reliable rides. The magnitude of the needs of the women we serve, combined with our growing vision and the help of some national media attention, has fueled rapid growth and generated thousands of applicants each year.

This rapid growth has triggered us to rely on the wisdom from a book titled Mission Drift along with putting policies and procedures in place that allow us to stay true to our mission, reinforcing that we seek to reflect Jesus Christ in all that we do. We aim to continue to work on our processes to be more effective, efficient, transparent and accountable.

Our future is bright here at God’s Garage. We are looking to tomorrow as we train and prepare people to help others thrive. We intend to become a full-time venture with mechanics working every day to support the needs of single mothers, widows and wives of deployed military throughout Conroe and the Greater Houston area.

You Can Make a Real Difference in Your Community

“I never knew that when I applied to receive help from God’s garage that I would have a life changing experience in so many ways. I met amazing people at the seminar I attended back in February and received so much helpful information from the love of God, tools to have a successful interview to get a better paying job and budgeting skills. I am so grateful for everyone at God’s Garage: the volunteers, the donors and everyone in the ministry who takes time to get to know you and listen to your story. They pray for you and with you and they genuinely care. Through this difficult time, I have learned that you are not alone, and prayer does change things. I can’t say thank you enough for blessing my children and I with a vehicle. Thank you, Lord.” – Latraysha (Client)

Have you ever wondered if you could make a real, impactful difference in the lives of people around you? You can! God has abundantly blessed our mission and efforts, and our ministry is expanding.

Currently, we are constructing a new building with additional service bays and a full training room. As a primarily volunteer run organization, we are actively recruiting additional volunteers to be prepared for when the building is finished. It is our hope and prayer that we will be able to serve 300% more clients once construction is complete.

Join us in taking care of those who are unable to do it alone. Please consider giving a one time or recurring gift to God’s Garage.
